My name is michael and i joined the forum mainly to get translations.
to be honest i will not be able to contribute anything as i don't know any gaelic at all.
i have been to ireland a few times now and love the country and people thanks in advance for any help given.
and hopefully i will soon be able to enjoy the language as well

Welcome to the forum! Your contribution can be to ask for translations and watch other people become tied up in knots trying to translate them with the spirit you intended! Note: we generally refer to the language as Irish; Gaelic usually means Scottish Gaelic so if you are asking for a translation, make sure that it is obvious that you are looking for it in Irish or you'll cause more knots than you might intend!

(Damn I thought I had posted but I mustn't have hit "Submit".)

Hi, Mick. Welcome to the forum. I was going to say if you can ask us questions that make us think about the language, your contribution to the forum will be great ... but Saoirse beat me to it.

Hey there, Mick

I guess I'm the reason you had to add a number to your username
