Perhaps not strictly Irish language, but I am researching Dublin surnames, its quite fluid given the origins of Dubliners are very diverse, but Im looking for names are steeped in Dublin history and tradition, most will have origins beyond Dublin but im not looking for the root (though Id like to distinguish) but names that are historically Dublin and are woven into the fabric of the fair city, has anyone any info or resources?

I only found one website and as you will see a healthy mix of Gaelic and Anglo Norman

Aungier, Barnwall, Begg, Bermingham, Bissett, Brien, Byrne, Cappoc, Casey, Connor, Donoghue, Doyle, Early, Farrell, Field, Fynes, Hall, Hand, Harford, Hatch, Kavanagh, Kelly, Kettle, Lowndes, Maypother, Murphy, Neill, Orange, Phelmer/Felmer, Savage, Seagrave, Sherwin, Talbot, Taylor, Toole.

Anyone anymore? Or know any good books? I want to give their history as well as Irish forms.
Go raibh maith agaibh

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

Don't know how representative they are, but the song "Rare 'Old Times" is about Dublin and mentions (Jack) Dempsey and (Peggy) Duignan as being "as Dublin as can be".

There are the Dublin Huguenots such as D'Olier and La Touche, the family name of a certain Samuel Becket is said to derive from Becquett (if you look the Wikipedia page on the Dublin Huguenot Cemetery - Reilig na nÚgóineach) and there's the list of the names here -
