It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.

I'm pretty sure that there are plenty of people who will disagree with what I'm about to say, but I don't think it's appropriate to be peddling your book on this forum. First of all, it is not written in the Irish language, nor is it about the Irish language. Throwing in a few Irish phrases here and there is more like cultural appropriation than any sort of genuine interest in learning the language. I think the purpose of this forum should not be to sell a book that is only tangentially related to the Irish language and is obviously written for the purpose of promoting a certain religion.

I may be wrong about this, but I think the Irish Learners' Forum should be about helping people who are trying to learn the Irish language.

The moderators discuss this very matter from time to time and we are okay with it, WFM.

As we see it, many of us worked on this project and are happy to see that an author cares enough to seek proper advice on correct Irish, rather than make it up off the top of their head or worse still Google translate it.

Also, any introduction to Irish language, however great or small, may spark someone's interest in finding out more about the language and perhaps even going on to actually learning the language in future.

So, Suzanne isn't really "peddling" her book so much as sharing with us the fruits of our combined labours and helping us promote the language.

My "specialty" is Connemara Irish, particularly Cois Fhairrge dialect, but I can also speak Ulster and Munster Irish with native-level pronunciation.

That is my only intent. You all were instrumental in its being what it is, so I only wished to share the opportunity. As to the religious aspect of it, you can read it or not read it. Nowhere in the book is accepting my faith required. I wanted to be historically accurate and am so appreciative of all here.

Also, I'd love to learn the language. In fact, I have picked up quite a bit of it, but unfortunately, my family thinks I'm nuts, so I really have no one who shares the love of it around me. I'm sure I'll hang around here and keep learning.
