Me too. I thought the other format was much simpler, actually. I could look at the posts in the section that I was

interested in very easily. Now everything is lumped together in one heap. Fair play to you, a Breandáin, on trying

to please everyone. You certainly put in a lot of hard work here!

I will second the hard work sentiment, nice job Breandán!
I was just starting to poke around the site and the categories were helpful for a first timer.

Thanks folks for the encouragement and sorry for jumping the gun. I should have asked people their opinions here first. In fact, it may not be too late to wind things back if that is what people here want.

How about we vote on what, if any, categories to reinstate?

I've made a poll above. Please add your vote. If you think we should have only some categories from the old ones, or different categories from what we had, please suggest them in this thread.

Tried to vote but nothing happens, no matter what I click on

I was unable to vote as well.
But I would like to voice my vote openly for the old format, it made much more sense to me when things were categorized.

Perhaps a compromise? Is there a way that the posted could be tagged somehow (mar shampla, "TAT") by having a selected designation as a required field before submiting a post? This would keep the same format, but allow those interested only in specific topics to skip the posts they have no interest in....just a thought.
