I'm a bit busy right now, Mountain King, but something using the verb scar "to part, separate" might work.

Bump again tomorrow if nobody chimes in.

Got a job, so less translation time. Good and bad I guess. :D :(
So, I'm officially bumping this again while I'm thinking about it.

The multiplayer server here has a friends and foes element to it. However, it is called "friends" and "ignores." This is where it gets confusing. Irish doesn't seem to have a consistent way to talk about ignoring someone, and the fact that a verb is being used as a noun only adds to the confusion. These are the strings in question:

ignores list (a list of ignored people)
friends and ignores list
On ignores list
ignored
Add to ignores list
Friends/Ignores list.
Add as ignore (contrast with "add as friend")
Ignore all

Does anyone agree with Breandán or have some opinions of their own they would like to share?

Thanks and best regards,

Hi, Mountain_King,

Can you explain a bit more about the "ignores" status or how it affects player behaviour? I take it they are neither "enemies" (whom your units would automatically attack) nor "friends" (whom your units might aid in battle?).

Do you know if you go to a person's profile on this forum, below their picture it says "Add as Friend"/"Add as Foe"? It's kind of like that. I'm not sure it technically does anything gameplay-wise, but puts them on your list of "ignored" people. Other players that you don't like, as opposed to other players you do like (who go on the friends list). I'm not 100% certain because I don't play multiplayer, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Does that clear things up?

In that case, something using seachain "to avoid, shun" might work. We'd need the word for "someone who is shunned". Seachanta ?

Either that or diúltaithe "refused".

There is also díbeartach "outcast, banished person". That might be easiest to use:

ignores list (a list of ignored people) Liosta díbeartach
friends and ignores list Liosta carad agus díbeartach
On ignores list Ar liosta díbeartach
ignored díbeartha
Add to ignores list Cuir ar liosta díbeartach
Friends/Ignores list. Liosta carad/díbeartach
Add as ignore (contrast with "add as friend") Cuir mar dhíbeartach
Ignore all Díbir iad uile
