It looks odd to see it written like that.
Are you sure it's not "Ó Fearail" just take out the middle gh?

It's good that a lot of people keep the old spelling of thier surnames.
There are some you rarely see in the modern spelling.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
