Seo is pronounced more or less like show - correct me if I'm wrong - but I'm not sure how you pronounce the family name Seoighe - do you pronounce the 'i'? and the 'ghe' ending - how do you pronounce that?

I'd pronounce the end like a soft "gh" Roughly sho-ee-geh (where geh is very slightly guttural)

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

West Conamara also has SHOH-gih /∫o:g´ə/, as Bríd has pronounced it.

North Conamara has SHOH-yih /∫o:jə/.

Just to add, I wouldn't pronounce "seo" like "show"...more like a cross between "shah" and "shuh."

"Seó" is pronounced like "show."

Well, Southern Connemara people should spell it "Seoige" then, and the others "Seoighe" :)
