The instructions re 'Tat' etc for translations seems to be working well. One of the ongoing complaints in the other land was that people did not use the subject line effectively. 'Please translate' or 'Translation for tattoo' a thousand times over etc. I wonder if there is a succinct way of saying that in the instructions at the top? Tús maith and all that.

I am conscious of not making the instructions too cumbersome. However, as the site is still an infant - albeit a busy infant - we might be able to prevent the influx of meaningless subject lines by not allowing it to really begin at all. The sheep mentality has a strong pull - gravity has nothing on it!

One thing the moderators are trying is changing subject lines in the translation forum to comply with the suggested format. So, for example, if someone posts a subject line that just says "translation requested" and the message is requesting "None but God may judge me" for a tattoo, we'd use the "edit" feature to change the header to "Tat: None but God may judge me." Hopefully, the more that happens, the more people will pick up on the correct format before they post.

No, it's a recurring typographical error I make - the only translator in the world who can't spell "translation" without reversing the l and the a. (Yes, I had to retype both "translator" and "translation" in that sentence)
