I have noticed people doing different things when quoting from someone else's post. It can be useful when quoting that the original member's name comes with the quote. A number of times, I have seen the word 'quote' and have had to scroll back to see who made the original comment.

If you wish to quote the entire content of the post in your reply, the simplest way to do this is to just click 'quote' in the bottom right hand corner of that post . All of the original post should now appear in your newly opened reply with the original poster's name.

Quite often, you may only wish to quote only part of the post. In this instance, click 'reply' as usual and then scroll down through all the previous posts until you find the one you wish to quote from, highlight the targetted words and click 'quote' in the top right hand corner of that post. The intended section of the original post should now appear in your newly opened reply with the original poster's name.

This all sounded very clear in my head...... It's very simple really!

I've never done it this way before. I've been clicking the "quote" button at the bottom of the original post and then I delete all of the stuff that I didn't want to quote – your way is a lot easier I think. Thanks for letting everyone know about this.

... you can add the name into the green field at the top by adding ="name" into the [ quote ] tag, e.g., [ quote = "Dinneen" ] (without spaces) will give you:
