No other books like TYI, or "Colloquial Irish" specifically for Munster? What about elementary readers?
A Jeremy, a chara,If you want easy and quick access to a selection of Munster Irish books, then take a look in the "My Munster Irish Library" folder in my Box.net account:
https://www.box.com/s/2e516599abbe49553576You will need to familiarise yourself with the Old Type, or seanchló, as most of the old books are written in that type.
Some of the books I have re-typeset, where I thought that a searchable document would be an advantage, but as re-typesetting is a major task, I have only done a few.
Brennan: IRISH MADE EASY.pdf is re-typeset, the other file is the image from which it was generated.
ChristianBrothers: You will find a re-typeset version in the subfolder: AidsToThePronunciationOfIrish.
Gaelic Fonts: You will need these fonts to correctly read the .doc files.
Myles Dillon TYI: You need to explore this folder, it contains the full history of my work on TYI1961. You will find the latest version of this work at:
Myles Dillon TYI / InteractiveTYI / Compleat TYI / TYICompressed / TYI1961.pdf
Ó Cuiv: You will find here a selection of books in Ó Cuiv's Simplified Spelling, and also a scholarly book explaining Munster pronunciation, in a style similar to the Chrianan Brothers' book, but based on the Simplified Spelling. I have taken the liberty of re-typesetting this book, which you will find in the sub-folder, Sound Of Irish.
Ó Duirinne: This contains 'The Educational IRISH-ENGLISH Pronouncing Dictionary' which I have re-typeset.
The inside covers guide you to the works of Father Gerald O'Nolan, and other works, which you will find in the sub-folder 'Associated books'. His Introduction to Studies in Modern Irish, I have re-typeset.
In the back inside cover of EPD, there is a reference to Lane's Larger Dictionary, and you will find this in the Other Books folder, along with various other dictionaries, including Dinneen.
Ó Nolan: This is a dummy entry, for my convenience, for these files are synchronized to my computer, and this folder is there, an Alias. You will find though, a link in the explanatory notes which will give you a direct link to the actual folder, which is in the folder: Ó Duirinne, above.
Old Books: Various old grammar text books, and the SPIL folder, which contains a whole series of book printed for 'the Society for the Preservation of the Irish Language, among which you will find a folder labelled "A Grammar of the Irish Language (Joyce). In there you will find my re-typeset version of this foundation book.
The O'Donovan folder contains John O'Donovan's "A Grammar of The Irish Language", which I had to split to get it uploaded, because it is too big for my upload limit.
PÓLeary: This represents a library in its own right. Buried in ther, you may like to find "Catilina", which I have retypeset, and also added the Simplified Spelling on facing pages, matched line for line.
Of course, my work is subject to error, and WILL need correcting.
YOUR help is needed here, not just for me, but for other readers too.
