Mar a dúirt an té a dúirt é: ...lá fhéile Sheoin Dic, Lá nach dtáinig 'gus nach dtig
Naomh é Seon Dic nach bhfuil ann 'chor ar bith, rud a fhágann gurb ionann a fhéile seisean agus lá Thadhg na dTadhgann .i. lá nach dtiocfaidh choíche.
You may have run across the saying 'Tibb's Eve' before in English; this is much the same thing. Seon Dic doesn't exist and so his feast day doesn't either. It's a whimsical way of saying 'never'.
There are quite a few such sayings in Irish, most of them more or less obscure references to the Christian Judgment Day - for example 'Lá Philib an Chleite' refers to 'Philib an Chleite' (a nickname for the owl) and the belief that owls would be seen flying in broad daylight on the last day.
