Tá sé ann féin
The literal translation is "He is there himself". Is the figurative meaning in English "He is a loner"?

I am not familiar with that one.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

Dinneen has duine leis (ann) féin is ea é, meaning it can be either duine leis féin or duine ann féin, I presume.

It gives the meaning as "he is a man apart, a peculiar person." I suppose "loner" or even "a bit of an oddball" would also fit in that frame.
