Hi all, I want my son's name tattooed in the Ogham alphabet on my left wrist.
His name is Thomas, although I usually call him Tommy.
I'm unsure if I want the Thomas tattooed in Ogham or the Tommy (as there is no y in the ogham alphabet); or even Tomas (as that is the Gaelic).
I was hoping someone could provide some guidance

Maybe post both versions up for me to make sure that all my research has led to the right writing.
I understand that the Ogham alphabet is read from the bottom up
Thank you for any help!!

Cheers,

Hi welcome to the forum!
Tomás is Irish for
ThomasOgham (circa 4th-7th century AD); Tomás (there are no accents):

http://nuacht1.com/oghamIf you want to have the tattoo vertically as ogham is meant to be written; start from left to right as shown in the link.
Old Irish script/ font (circa 7th century- ); Tomás:
TomásSee which one you refer.
There is no "Y" in either font so Tommy wont really work, sorry!
If your going with the Old Irish script you will need the Irish version as writing English in this way is
seen as odd.
If you want to use Thomas instead of Tomás for the ogham:
