a thug = who gave.

(Milseán is pronounced Mísleán in some dialects.)

I've heard misleán but not mísleán (meesh-LAWN)? Misspelling or am in the wrong?

Dúirt mé léi, a Iona, an bhfuil milseán agat? I said to her, Iona, do you have a sweet? (I might be more inclined to say "D'fhiafraigh mé di..." "I asked her...")

Bhain sí sult as an milseán (or "a milseán") She enjoyed the sweet (or "her sweet")

Ansin, dúirt mé léi (or d'fhiafraigh mé di) "cé a thug an milseán duit?" Then I said to her (or I asked her) "who gave you the sweet."

Mísleán is the pronunciation in Cork and Kerry, Misleán might be used elsewhere.

I wonder if "Will you have a sweet" is the intention of the sentence. It doesn't seem to make sense the way it is in context with what follows?

That's why I translated what I thought the OP was trying to say in my correction of the sentences...if something else was meant, I'm hoping he'll tell us, so we can guide him on the correct structure.

The nominative plural of "sweet" ("sweets") is "milseain". "Milsean" is singular ("a sweet"). The presence or absence of that "i" before the "n" is important.
