Can someone let me know how I spell McLoughlin in Irish, I am a married woman? (Is it different to the spelling above?)
I would really appreciate your help!!

If a woman marries, she may choose to keep her own surname or take her husband's surname. If she takes her husband's, and his name begins with
Mac, then for her the
Mac is replaced by
Bean Mhic ("wife of the son of"), although some people omit the
Bean part. So, a woman marrying a man named
Mac Lochlainn can choose between
Bean Mhic Lochlainn and
Mhic Lochlainn.
