Can someone please help me in translating the quote "Love the life you live, Live the life you love" into Gaelic?

There are a couple of different ways to express this, and none of them is quite literal, for the simple reason that there is no simple verb ‘to love (something)’ in Irish. Instead, you use expressions like ‘(something) is good with me’ or ‘I have love for (something)’.

The former expression uses a verb called the copula (which is one of the verbs that mean ‘to be’), and this form doesn’t have an imperative (‘be!’), so you’d instead have to say something like “may you love the life you life; may you live the life you love”:

Gura breá leat an saol a chaitheann tú; agus go gcaithe tú an saol is breá leat

The latter expression uses another verb for ‘to be’, one which does have an imperative—it’s just a bit longer and wordier:

Bíodh gean agat ar an saol a chaitheann tú; caith an saol a bhfuil gean agat air


Stylistically, I prefer the former in Irish. The latter doesn’t flow as nicely.
