Cé as a dtagann na tonnta?

Cé as a dtagann na tonnta?
Cé as a dtagann siad go léir?
Cé as a dtagann na tonnta?
Cé as a dtagann siad go léir?

Ní ghlacann siad briseadh
Ní stopann siad riamh
Codlaíonn an ghealach
Codlaíonn an ghrian....ach

Cé as a dtagann na tonnta?
Cé as a dtagann siad go léir?
Cé as a dtagann na tonnta?
Cé as a dtagann siad go léir?

Cé as a dtagann na tonnta? = Where do the waves come from?
Cé as a dtagann siad go léir? = Where do they all come from?
Ní ghlacann siad briseadh = They don't take a break
Ní stopann siad riamh = They never stop
Codlaíonn an ghealach = The moon sleeps
Codlaíonn an ghrian = The sun sleeps

If anyone is hoping to help Daidí na Nollag out in figuring out a good present, I cannot praise Ceol na Mara highly enough. Handy little phrases in the songs too. 8-)

By the way, the words all come with the cd so I cannot really claim any credit for transcribing them.

Edited to include the two missing fadas as spotted by Breandáin's excellent eyesight below!

A couple of typos. (or one typo copied?) ;)

I think briseadh only works for a "break" in the weather. "Ní ghlacann siad briseadh" is a play on that.

For people, "to take a break" is normally sos a ghlacadh or do scíth a ligean.
