There is another version of this game that works the other way around at: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1943

Inspired by http://www.focloir.ie, I thought it might be fun to take a phrase in Irish from the new dictionary with a colour in the English translation and people have to guess the English phrase. The person who guesses correctly can come up with a new one or someone else will row in to help out.

e.g. na Gardaí = the boys in blue

Seo an chéad cheann / Here's the first one: pórtar

I'll jump in with another one. I'm thinking that this thread may just slowly die off......

'níos gile ná an sneachta'. Remember we are looking for a phrase in English with a colour that means this.
