Táim sa bhaile liom féin freisin. Tá m'fhear chéile agus clann imithe ar chuairt. Ní raibh mé in ann dul mar táim beagánín tinn. Níl ach mise agus ILF le chéile!

Ach ar an taobh dearfach den scéal, bhí mé in ann cárta a cheannach i nGaeilge do m'fhear. Fuair sé ceann i mBéarla agus scríobh sé i nGaeilge air. Bhuaigh mé an comórtas sin! 8-)

GOA scríobh mé 'grá' ar an gclúdach ach sin é mar níl suim ar bith aici ar an nGaeilge. Bain sult as an oíche ar ILF leat féin. Tá mise ag breathnú ar boxset Breaking Bad ar Netflix. Tá sé an chlár den chéad scoth

Conas a deirtear i nGaeilge: How sad is that!

I think we may use 'sad' slightly differently here in this context sometimes. I was aiming for 'sad' as in 'pathetic'. Does it work for that?

According to Baldy, it does, yes. (See English-Irish Dictionary, De Bhaldraithe, 1959 under "pathetic")
