We do, but really only in an official capacity. For example, if you were living here on a visa, you'd officially be a "resident alien" (sounds like something from Star Wars, doesn't it?), but people wouldn't call you that. They'd be more likely to say (if they had to explain your status) that you're a "foreign national" (or even just "Irish").
For the most part, the only time ordinary people use the term "alien" here is when we're talking about people who are here illegally.
