An bhfuil na liricí ag éinne den amhrán "St Patrick's Breastplate" i nGaeilge. Níl a fhios agam cad a bheadh an teideál i nGaelige. Caithfidh mé é a rá san eaglais fá choinne cheiliúradh an Lá Fhéile Pádraig. Beidh mór agam as cibé saghas cuidiu a thabhairfaidh domh.

It is called Lúireach Phádraig. Daltaí na Gaeilge has a booklet "Céad Míle Fáilte An tAífreann Dé" and there are words to several hymns including this one. I don't know if it is available thru their website but no harm trying.

The thing is, what's called "St. Patrick's Breastplate" in English involves more than just the Lúireach ("Christ be with me, Christ within me," etc.). It includes most of the poem known as "The Deer's Cry" ("I bind unto myself today" etc.). Are you looking for all of that as well?

You might like to know that Appletree Press in Belfast have published a useful little book about it, written and researched by Alf McCreary.

Thanks guys and thanks Bríd in particular for remembering. Sometimes I think I'm losing my mind. I had a faint recollection of talking about this, but I didn't remember when/where. Yes Audrey. I'd like to see the Hymn that is in the Episcopal Hymnbook in Irish. That is the one I was talking about. I'll dig through our notes from last year to review it all again.
