I'm completely new to this and I apologize if I have repeated anything or get anythig wrong. So I was wondering if you could tell me the translations for the word grandfather and the word grandmother.
My gandfather Seamus was irishso I would like that in Gaelic
My grandma was scottish so I would like hers in Scottish if that is possible
Again apologize if I get terminology incorrect etc.

@Other mods and translators - this was really a request for two different things "Grandfather" in Irish and "Grandmother" in Scottish Gaelic. I've made two separate threads, one in each of the relevant sections.

For the Irish, seanathair is "grandfather" and daideo is "grandad". Other terms for "grandfather" are athair mór literally "great father" and athair críonna literally "old/wise father"

These are the forms you might use talking about him or if you labelled a photograph of him, etc. If you are calling to him, the forms would change.
