It's been a few years ago so my memory may not be perfect on this one, but I remember hearing the "oi" in Oisín being pronounced something like the "oi" in the word droichead by fluent speakers in the Gaeltacht.

What I mean is that they would use /oʊ/ or /o:/ ('oh') instead of the short sound that would be expected

The vowel sounds like a schwa but as a lot of vowels in Irish are hardly very clear when not stressed or long, it's not all that important
