Hello Forum,

I am hoping to have the single words; 'Patience' and 'Sacrifice' (or 'Perseverance' depending on length) Engraved on my wedding band in memory/honor of my Father and his/ my Irish Heritage (Donnelley from country Galway)

I have come across a translation but none seem to be very confident in their answers. Please help/assist as I am being wed Nov. 5th and have to get the engraving to the jeweler this weekend.

Thank you soo much for any attention and support.

Hello back, Gantz.

To get things started:

Foighne "Patience"
Íobairt "Sacrifice"
Buanseasmhacht "Perseverance"

(all from focal.ie)

Buaine "Permanence, durability, longevity" (de Bhaldraithe)

Be sure to wait for at least two more people to confirm before using these translations.

(Enlarged so you don't miss the accent over the I in Íobairt.)

Thank you for the assistance, I will indeed wait for another 2 confirmations to the translations especially since the Íobairt is a different translation than I've come across. I had seen it before similar to your suggestion but each time I found it online it didn't look right.

The other translations are in accordance with what I have uncovered but again, I will wait for other submissions/agreements.

Thank you sooo much for the assistance. I am extremely eager to have the accurate translations inscribed forever on my band, and for my future family to keep with us.
