On the front page, there is a link for 'Gaeilge na hAlbain - Scottish Gaelic'. I was just wondering if it might give the impression that there are a lot of members competent in the language. I understand the logic of separating it from Irish translation requests but should there be a note of caution perhaps or something to indicate that three confirmations may - probably will - not be possible. I realise that I am now rambling but there is a point in there somewhere..... I think! :pages:

Alternatively, it might just encourage more Scottish Gaelic speakers to come if they have their own corner.

Let's wait and see what happens. ;)

It may very well.

I visit a forum from time to time that is ostensibly about Irish, but that seems to attract more Scottish Gaelic learners than Irish, so I plugged this forum over there yesterday by mentioning the special page for Scottish Gaelic. Since the other forum is more about things such as tune names, and discourages other forms of translation requests, I'm hoping some people will find their way here from there.

Oxycletelville: What in the world does this have to do with Learning Irish? I think maybe I need self-hypnosis to figure this out. Sorry if I'm being a jerk or insensitive.

Oxyclectyclecywhatever is a spam bot; there’s no human involved here. Be as jerky and insensitive as you want. ‘His’ posts will be deleted as soon as one of the mods log in. :)

Always wait for at least three people to agree on a translation, especially if it’s for something permanent.

My translations are usually GU (Ulster Irish), unless CO (Standard Orthography) is requested.

Done. :good: (If you see any spam, you can report it by clicking the exclamation mark button at the bottom of the post or by PMing a mod(h)).
