Can anyone translate "You'll Never Walk Alone" to Scottish Gaelic please?
Thanks

[If said to one person, informally] Cha choisich thu nad aonar a-chaoidh
[If said to more than one person, or said formally to one person] Cha choisichidh sibh nur aonar a-chaoidh

The choice between the informal and formal forms would be a lot like the choice in French between tu and vous or in German between Du and Sie. Note that Irish does not make this formal/informal distinction.

Since you would presumably be addressing this to someone with whom you have a close relationship, the informal form would be fine.

Thank you very much. It is for a tattoo. I appreciate your help - it is definitely a starting point for me!

Mightn't an impersonal form be more appropriate here...?

Not sure how one would do that, Niall. Do you mean something the equivalent of "Walking will never be done alone"? That seems somewhat abstract, as opposed to what I read as an assurance that the person speaking will be accompanying the person being addressed.

Remember that English has an imersonal form too -- or more precisely two: they and you. I always interpreted the original song as impersonal: whenever one holds ones head up high while walking through the storm, one is not walking alone -- impersonal you.
