Looking for a saying along the lines of: May the Hounds of Hell eat Norte Dame and the Wolverines eat the Hounds of Hell. Something fun to post before the ND game this Saturday.

Grma a charide.

Perhaps:

Go n-ithe na deamhain Notre Dame, agus go n-ithe na Wolverines na deamhain!
"May the Hounds of Hell eat Norte Dame and the Wolverines eat the Hounds of Hell."

Not that I'm agreeing with you, by the way.

Await further input ... especially if you are going to ink it.

na deamhain Notre Dame... I'd say deamhain Notre Dame (obviously Notre Dame can't be made into a genitive)

 Um, na deamhain is the subject and Notre Dame is the object - no genitive involved. :prof:

Yeah. "Na deamhain" are "the hounds of hell" and they are eating Notre Dame.

It's better than what I was going to say - Cúnna Ifrinn

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

Woops. I mis-read it as "the hounds of notre dame". I can see how my mentioning of the genitive might have confused you

I keep reading the title of this thread and thinking, “Well, if it’s transsexuals you’re after, you might have come to the wrong forum …”

Always wait for at least three people to agree on a translation, especially if it’s for something permanent.

My translations are usually GU (Ulster Irish), unless CO (Standard Orthography) is requested.
