I would like to insert a MP4 file of the "Our Father" that I found on the internet.
I'd like to know from whence comes the speaker. Any guesses location....dialect?

E-mail it to me, Faber, and I'll upload it to the server and give you a URL for it (once I've checked it's not porn. ;) )

Brendan:

I think I might have been naked when I recorded the file but I don't know if you can determine my nakedness by the MP4. :guiness:

I will send it in just a minute.

Here's the clip off of the internet. I just was curious of your thoughts.

It sounds a bit like "Urban" to me, i.e., anglicised non-native Irish. But I could be wrong. Wait for other opinions.

Ive seen some of his other videos on youtube and his accent in odd to me in english. He sounds like hes a soft south ulster accent which has softened, perhaps from emigrating? I detect a hint of the US? Could be wrong but id say hes not a native and has learnt it from teachers cos his irish doesnt sound like its from one place to me (accentwise).

Concerning pronunciation it's a blend of dialects (mainly Ulster but there are things he pronounces as in Munster, eg. -ao-) and of standard Irish with English influence (which means: he doesn't pronounce properly); the prayer itself, in a grammatical and lexical point of view, is the standard Irish version.
