i apologize if i am starting a previous topic.
but i am getting a tattoo this weekend, my very first tattoo.
as a tattoo i want it to be symbolic, so i am getting a claddagh ring on my right shoulder blade with my parent's names in the wrist, or arms of the ring.
above the ring, i want to get a banner and in that banner i want it to say "family is forever"

i understand there are many different meanings of family, and that is where i'm getting very confused.
i live with my father, step mother, sister, and her boyfriend who is an older brother to me, so that would be the family meaning, teaghlach, which is household if i am correct.
but i also want "family" to include my mother and my sister who are living in a different state, so they are not in the household.
now i am stumped and need help!

this being a tattoo, i want to to mean pretty much exactly what i'm trying to say.

But I think it would have more meaning in Irish if we added mo:

Mo mhuintir go deo "Family forever", literally "My family forever."

Another option is simply muintir bhuan, which would mean ‘family forever’ or ‘eternal/everlasting/always-there family’ (buan is a bit hard to translate precisely into English, but it’s an adjective that describes something that is permanent, enduring, everlasting, etc.).
