Does anyone know how to say "I don't fear you anymore."? I wanted to get a tattoo of it on my chest... I've been through a lot in my life with abusive parents and boyfriends and now that I'm starting a new chapter of my life, I figured what better to symbolize it than that? Thanks!

mcneilbc, I'm just letting you know that many of the members on the forum at IGTF are also members here on this forum. For the benefit of anyone who may respond, perhaps they can also post their suggestion over at IGTF as well.

"níl eagla orm romhat", in my opinion, but please wait for more experienced and more fluent members to confirm or not as the case may be.

You’ll need to specify whether you don’t fear a singular or a plural you—given your explanation, I’d guess plural (“I don’t fear you [all] anymore”), but just to be sure:

Single person:
Níl eagla orm romhat a thuilleadh

Several people:
Níl eagla orm romhaibh a thuilleadh

(Posted both here and on IGTF)

So, “You [pl.] are you [pl.]” would be “Y’alls y’all’s y’alls yall”? :bolt:

I like "feasta" better.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

On the other side, I suggested:

Quote:
Why not remove the question of how many people altogether?

Níl eagla orm a thuilleadh "I am no longer afraid"

If feasta is better, I think it needs the future tense, doesn't it?

Ní bheidh eagla orm feasta "I will no longer be afraid"

Await further input ...
