Ceapaim nach 'ndéanann' tú chara. How do you 'make' a friend in Irish?

For "to make friends with s.o.", De Bhaldraithe has:

cairdeas a dhéanamh le duine
muintearas a dhéanamh le duine
mórtas a dhéanamh le duine

I wonder if the last one was not meant to be :?: mórtachas a dhéanamh le duine :?: ?

"To be friends with someone" is also bheith istigh le duine, but I am not sure how you describe getting into that state. Would it be :?: Chuaigh siad isteach le chéile* :?: ?

There's also:

thú féin a chur in aithne do dhuine "to introduce yourself to someone."
d'ainm a ligean chuig duine/le duine "to introduce yourself to someone."

Thanks for another thought-provoking question, a Shaoirse. Hope I can fill in some gaps here too.

Actually, that is one I have come across. Grma as an 'selection' go léir!

Saoirse asks questions that make us all think.

Rinne mé cairdeas le ... - probably.

Rinne mé cara ... - sounds odd to me, but it still could be correct.

There may be even better ways I can't think of.
Where is Braoin when you need him.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

I think Bríd forgot to finish that sentence. I'll fill in the rest if it.

Saoirse asks questions that make us all think, 'I wish she'd stop asking questions...!'

On the contrary Saoirse, the more questions/posts from you the better. :D

Rinne mé cara . . . I constructed/built/manufactured a friend? :/

Ná bac leis, nílim ach ag magadh.

As an aside, am I right in thinking that "cur isteach le duine" is getting to know a person, but "cur isteach ar duine" means bothering a person?
