Tá fáilte romhat, a Phegi. If you have any suggestions about what we should be doing in Ireland to help the cause of An Ghaeilge - the Welsh seem to have made such a fantastic job of it - let us know.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

Hi everyone. My name is Christy and I live in the eastern US. My interest in Ireland started about 10 years ago with the group Clannad and has grown from there. I started out on IGTF and have come over here at some people's suggestions. I write fiction and my work in progress involves descendents of fishermen from Conamara , so my main interests have to do with Conamara area customs/language/etc., but I've also found a lot of the other posts helpful as well.

It's nice to get to know everyone!

I haven't gotten started on learning Irish yet, but I would like to get started now. I was born and raised in America and have Irish heritage. I've just always been proud of that heritage and want to learn more about it.
