I found the following in a artice. It was engeaved into a cross at a dig site. The cross was Celtic and the script was english. I'm not sure if it is a scripture for the bible or other religious text. I wasthinking of working it into a tattoo. I want to have it translated into Gaelic Irish please. Any help would be great.

"Rise up Lord, may your enemies be dispersed and those who hate you flee from your face"

Thanks

It is from the Bible, Numbers 10:35 in the Old Testament, in case you really wanted to know.

Numbers 10:35
“Éirigh, a Thiarna, agus go raibh scaipeadh ar do naimhde!
Agus an dream a bhfuil fuath acu duit,
Go dteithidís lena n-anam romhat.”

Rise up, Lord, may your enemies scatter!
And those that hate you,
may they flee with thier souls before you.

It is similar to -
Psalm 68:2
Éireoidh Dia agus scaipfear a naimhde
agus teithfidh as a láthair an dream a thugann fuath dó.

God will rise and his enemies will scatter,
and those that hate him will flee from his company.

It is not word for word what you have but it is from the official Irish translation of the Bible (An Bíobla Naofa)

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

The following is a cut and paste from An Bíobla Naofa (the Holy Bible in Irish, available online):

Éirigh, a Thiarna, agus go raibh scaipeadh ar do naimhde!
Agus an dream a bhfuil fuath acu duit,
Go dteithidís lena n-anam romhat.

Darn - Bríd got there first!

Easter actually begins at sundown on Saturday. Post it then, and you won't have to get up early!
