To me, the best Gaelic font ever, is Rudhraigheacht.
http://www.folkplanet.com/seanchlo/ruraiocht/ru3.html. (strangely enough they didn't use the true Irish s and r, they used the Roman-like forms instead, while the true Irish ones do exist in that font).
Because it is really like the font you can find in the old printed books and it's quite regular and beautiful.

I didn't know there were any "short trips" anywhere in Australia unless you're just going across town. Been to Oz cúpla times and was stunned by how spread out it all is.
